PO: Probationary Officer
The full form of PO in terms of a bank is Probationary Offices which is a managerial level post.
This post is offered by public sector banks and private banks as well.
An exam conducting and recruitment organization IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts the exam for all the banks comes under this recruitment board list.
The probationary officer may hold the post of Assistant Manager in public and private sector banks. SBI conducts separate SBI PO exam, which is among two main PO exams i.e. IBPS PO and SBI PO.
The eligibility criteria for appearing in the PO exam is graduation from any recognized university in any stream.
The age limit is that a candidate must be 21-30years of age while applying for PO exam.
Age relaxation of 5 years is given to the candidates of SC and ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Exam conducts in two steps-
The syllabus for bank PO exam written tests in bank exams generally asks questions to check General Aptitude of the candidates.
100 questions are asked from three different sections – Quantitative Aptitude (35 Questions), Reasoning Ability (35 Questions), English Language (30).
Mains exam pattern
200 questions are asked covering Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English Language, General Awareness and Basic Computer Knowledge.
